NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION & EXPO

The National FFA Convention & Expo brings together more than 70,000 members and supporters from across the country for one of the largest student gatherings in the world. Idaho FFA members who attend have the opportunity to compete in national Career and Leadership Development Events, receive degrees and awards, take part in leadership workshops, explore the expo, and connect with FFA members from every state. It is a celebration of achievement, leadership, and the future of agriculture.

  • The National FFA Convention & Expo is held in late October (sometimes early November) in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Events are hosted at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indiana Convention Center, and surrounding venues.

Upcoming and future dates are available on the schedule page of the National FFA Convention & Expo website, as well as on the Calendar once announced each year.

  • Idaho FFA coordinates a two-hotel housing block each year in Indianapolis. Details are distributed annually by State FFA Staff through the Idaho Ag Ed Listserv. Chapters are required to follow the instructions provided by the state office to secure housing.

Chapters may secure housing outside of the convention housing offered by Idaho FFA. However, these options can be difficult to identify.

  • Idaho Night is held during the week of the National Convention and provides an opportunity for Idaho FFA members to come together for games, activities, and social time. The event changes from year to year but is always a highlight for Idaho attendees.

Details will be sent to advisors through the Idaho Ag Ed Listserv.

  • Idaho nominates individuals for National Honorary Awards which recognize individuals or organizations during the National FFA Convention & Expo. Chapters may submit applications which then forwards nominations to the board annually.

  • The Idaho FFA Foundation provides National Travel Grants to support state-winning teams and individuals who qualify to compete at the National FFA Convention & Expo. These grants are part of the Foundation’s Special Projects, which ensure students have the resources to represent Idaho on the national stage and continue developing premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.

These funds are supported by generous donors secured by the Idaho FFA Foundation. Click here for more information.

  • The National FFA Organization offers Student Engagement and Travel Assistance Grants to help members and chapters offset costs of attending the National FFA Convention & Expo. These grants are designed to increase access and ensure that more members can take part in the convention experience.

Applications for these grants are submitted directly to National FFA and are not reviewed or administered by Idaho FFA State Staff. Chapters and members should carefully follow the guidelines and deadlines provided on the National FFA Website.
