All official information, updates, and reminders for Idaho FFA programs and events are communicated through the Idaho Ag Ed Listserv (idahoaged@uidaho.edu) available to FFA advisors.

If you are not currently active on the listserv, please contact us to be added and receive up-to-date information.

Request for Special Needs Accommodations

Students participating in Idaho FFA events who require accommodations due to a disability must submit the Request for Special Needs Accommodation form.

This form ensures appropriate supports are arranged in advance and is reviewed by Idaho FFA State Staff. All information is kept confidential and used solely to coordinate necessary accommodations. Advisors should complete and submit the form as early as possible prior to the event.

Degrees

Awarded at Local, State, and National Levels | State FFA Degree Applications Due February 1 (District Deadline May Vary)

FFA degrees mark a member’s progress from beginning participation to the highest level of leadership and SAE achievement. Idaho members may earn the Discovery, Greenhand, and Chapter Degrees at the local level, the State FFA Degree at the state level, and the American FFA Degree at the national level.

State Star Awards

Awarded at the State Leadership Convention in Twin Falls | Applications Due March 1 | One Applicant per Category per District (District Deadline May Vary)

State Star Awards honor Idaho FFA members who rise to the top with outstanding Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) in four areas: Star Farmer, Star in Agribusiness, Star in Agricultural Placement, and Star in Agriscience. These awards represent the highest recognition for State FFA Degree recipients.

Agricultural Proficiency Awards

Awarded at the State Leadership Convention in Twin Falls | Applications Due March 1 | Recognize Excellence in SAEs Across 40+ Areas

Proficiency Awards recognize members who achieve success and develop career skills through their SAEs. Award categories follow the National FFA Proficiency list and showcase the diversity of agricultural careers. State winners are recognized on stage and may advance to national competition.

Agriscience Fair

Awarded at the State Leadership Convention in Twin Falls | Applications Due March 15 | Highlight Student Research Across 35+ Areas

The Agriscience Fair recognizes students who apply the scientific method to agriculture-related questions. Students present research individually or as a team in areas such as animal, plant, food, environmental, or social systems, with top projects advancing to the National FFA Agriscience Fair.

National Chapter Award

Awarded at the State Leadership Convention in Twin Falls | Applications Due March 1 | Recognize Chapter Excellence in Student, Chapter, and Community Development

The National Chapter Award highlights FFA chapters that excel in growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture. Idaho’s top chapters are recognized at the state level and may advance to national competition for one-, two-, or three-star recognition.

Golf Scramble Chapter Challenge

Hosted by the Idaho FFA Foundation | Deadlines Vary | Recognize Chapter Skills with Wood or Metal Projects

The Idaho FFA Foundation’s Golf Scramble Chapter Challenge showcases the skill and creativity of FFA members across the state. Chapters contribute handmade wood or metal projects that are featured as raffle prizes at the Foundation’s four regional golf tournaments each summer. These unique items highlight the talents of Idaho FFA youth while supporting scholarships and programs statewide.

Talent Showcased at the State Leadership Convention | State Talent Applications Due March 7 | National Band, Chorus, & Talent Applications Due Mid-July

Idaho FFA members can audition to share their creativity and performance skills in the State FFA Talent program. At the national level, members may apply for the National FFA Band, Chorus, or Talent, performing live during the National FFA Convention & Expo.

Honorary Awards

Awarded at State and National Levels | Deadlines Vary | Recognize Outstanding Service to FFA and Agricultural Education

Honorary awards celebrate individuals who make a lasting impact on FFA and agricultural education. At the state level, recipients may be recognized with the Honorary State FFA Degree, State Distinguished Service Citation, or State VIP Citation. At the national level, honorees may receive the Honorary American FFA Degree, National Distinguished Service Citation, or National VIP Citation.
