Premier Leadership
WHAT IS FFA?
FFA IS A DYNAMIC YOUTH ORGANIZATION THAT CHANGES LIVES AND PREPARES MEMBERS FOR PREMIER LEADERSHIP, PERSONAL GROWTH AND CAREER SUCCESS THROUGH AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION.
FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success. FFA members are future farmers, chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields.
FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of the three components of agricultural education.
The official name of the organization is the National FFA Organization. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change.
Personal Growth
WHAT IS IDAHO FFA?
FOUNDED IN 1929, IDAHO FFA IS THE STATE’S PREMIER AGRICULTURAL YOUTH ORGANIZATION.
Since 1929, Idaho FFA has helped young people discover their potential and their purpose through agricultural education. As the state’s premier agricultural youth organization, we connect classroom learning with real‑world, hands‑on experiences so students build the confidence, skills, and character to lead in agriculture and beyond.
Idaho FFA’s approach follows the proven, three‑part model of agricultural education: classroom instruction that builds foundational knowledge; Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) that turn ideas into practical, work‑based learning; and FFA leadership opportunities that develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success. Together, these experiences prepare students for diverse careers across the science, business, and technology of agriculture—spanning fields like plant and animal systems, environmental and natural resources, food science, mechanics, communications, and more.
Across Idaho’s rural and urban communities, FFA members sharpen problem‑solving, teamwork, and communication through local chapter activities, service, and advocacy. They also put their skills to the test in Career & Leadership Development Events (CDEs/LDEs), leadership conferences, and industry engagement that mirror real‑world standards.
Idaho FFA is guided by an elected state officer team and supported by agricultural education teachers, state staff, and partners including the Idaho FFA Foundation and Idaho FFA Alumni & Supporters. Together, we invest in educational opportunities, scholarships, and programs that keep Idaho agriculture strong—today and for the next generation.
Grow with us. Whether you’re a student, educator, parent, or industry partner, there’s a place for you in Idaho FFA.
